Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8. Please take this time to let your child’s teacher know just how much you appreciate all they do. A thank you card, a picture drawn by your child, etc. are some simple ideas. We as management will be doing some special things for each teacher and will let you know secretly if we need any help with these. Please see Lynn, Lori, or Candice if you have any questions about any of this.
Please start planning now and get a head start on things. Teachers really look forward to this week and get very excited. Thank you very much for your help and support with this.

March
March means St. Patrick's day! And St. Patrick's day means the annual St. Patty's day parade. The parade is Saturday March 14th at 10:00a.m. We will be having a pot luck breakfast starting at 9:15. This is such a fun time to get out and be festive! We will be decorating the float as well as ourselves. Parents must stay with their children.
*This year we are not able to do T-shirts so feel free to wear ones from prior years or just wear green! We do have shirts on sale from the prior years at the front desk.
Also, this year we will be requiring each child to purchase their own field trip shirt. This will help keep our costs down and ensure that every child has the proper identification required by the state. Shirts will be available for $10.00 and we will be sending out order forms in April.

St. Patty’s day is just around the corner!
It is time once again for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade. This year the parade will be Saturday, March 14th. Mark your calendars now. This is so much fun!! We have participated in the parade now for 7 years and it just gets better and better every year. We have a float that we decorate while we mingle with all our friends. The parade goes right through the middle of the Gateway Mall. It is in the morning so we will be having a pot luck breakfast. There will be more specific details closer to the event.
We also get matching T-Shirts for the parade. For this we will be having a contest. Everyone is welcome to enter. Whomever’s design is picked will be the design that goes on this years shirt. The information for this is at the front des. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Happy New Year!
Seeing as how we are almost half way done with this school year that means it is time for Parent Teacher Conferences. These conferences are a great time for you as parents to meet one on one with your child’s teacher. Teachers have been preparing developmental guidelines and assessments to track how your child is developing.
Please fill out a sign up sheet in the foyer at your next visit. We look forward to seeing you there.

December
It’s once again time for our annual Holiday Program! The program is put on by all the classes. Each class will perform a couple songs or skits. It’s their time to shine! We strongly recommend that you bring everyone that loves children (this should include but is not limited to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.).
Santa will be making a special appearance at 6:15. He will be there for you to take pictures and to sit on his lap. He will also have a special gift for each child. We do ask that you have your child there by 6:45 so they can get all ready.
The program is Thursday, December 11th. Program will begin at 7:00. It will be held at Brookwood elementary School. There will be maps at the front desk, or click on the following link:

We hope to see you there!

The Children's Academy is adding a news feed to its site in order do disseminate news, events, and updates quickly and easily. If you are new to this technology don't let it scare you! There are many ways to access news feeds, and we will publish some tutorials of common applications and uses at a later time. If you are familiar with feeds, then as you know, you will now be able to view posted activities at The Children's Academy with just a daily glance.
